August 2005
Ca' Tchiliu
In August 2005 I had just arrived to live in Boa Vista less than a month. One day while walking down the beach I noticed a for sale sign on a little derelict house with a fenced garden and beautiful coconut palms, that I thought was not there the day before. I knocked on the door, met the owner and the more we talked the more the dream of owning a property by the ocean turned into reality.Búzios apartments is the newest and hottest offering on the apartment rental market in Boa Vista and is set to establish a new benchmark for the island’s portfolio.
For many years this house, locally known as Ca’ Tchiliu became my home, the house where my kids spent the first years of their life and my office. Later on the laboratory where we produced Italian ice cream that we sold in our kiosk in the main square of town.
In this period I already sketched a few projects to develop the property, but none of which saw the light of day for one reason or another. After a few years of spending most of my time abroad to work on different projects I returned to Cabo Verde with a clearer mind and a solid vision of what should become of Ca’ Tchiliu.
2020
Búzios First Sketch
It was then, in 2020, that with the help of two talented Canarian architects the project of Búzios Aparthotel came to life. From the very start the brief was to create apartments of different sizes that would distinguish themselves for:
- Generous indoor and outdoor space
- Clean and minimalistic interior décor
- Abundant natural light and air circulation
- Superior comfort
Búzios should not be just another new holiday apartment building, but a project that sets a new benchmark on the island’s real estate market for innovative interior and exterior design, building material research and all-round superior standards of quality and comfort.
September 2022
Búzios Final Design
We finally broke ground in September 2022 and after two very challenging years of construction we were able to open the doors to our first guests on January 2nd 2025. Now that we have completed our first year of operation, we are grateful to our guests for their overwhelmingly positive reviews and thankful for the constructive feedback that allows us to improve our services day by day.
